Emily Ackerman, M.A., CCC-SLP is a passionate and experienced speech-language pathologist with a strong background in a variety of clinical settings across New York City. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University at Buffalo and a Master’s degree from William Paterson University in New Jersey.

Emily began her career at a specialized school for children with traumatic brain injuries and brain-based disorders, where she received extensive training in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), spanning both low-tech and high-tech systems. She later transitioned into the medical field, working in a sub-acute rehabilitation center where she assessed and treated individuals recovering from strokes and other medical conditions with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.

In addition to her background in AAC and medical speech pathology, Emily has expanded her expertise to include feeding therapy, oral motor development, and is continuing advanced training in myofunctional therapy.
